Program Note

Toy Soldier Blues is a fun and playful piece inspired by an image of a toy soldier dancing and playing. The slow introduction depicts a toy soldier waking up. Then the upbeat rhythm is introduced that eventually transforms into the blues-like harmonic progression in the climax. The piece is full of exciting sonorities that invite listeners to capture the innocence and simplicity of childhood play.
